Draw walls and rooms

Create and change building outlines, rooms, additions, and courtyards.

Open the termite diagram. Draw the outside walls before adding interior walls.

Draw an outside outline

  1. Select Walls → Exterior wall.
  2. Click the starting point, then each corner.
  3. Click the first point to close the outline.
  1. Select Walls → Exterior.
  2. Drag with one finger, turning at each corner.
  3. Return to the starting point to close the outline.

On a blank diagram, Add rectangle provides a starting shape. Select Dismiss to draw your own.

New wall segments run horizontally or vertically. Use Edit shape for angled walls. Draw another closed outline away from the first for a detached garage or outbuilding.

Add interior walls

Select Walls → Interior wall. Click the starting point and each turn. Connect to a wall, double-click, or press Enter to finish. You can start another interior wall without choosing the tool again.

Select Walls → Interior, then drag the wall path inside the building. Release to finish a valid path. To continue an open wall, drag its end handle.

Interior walls must stay within a closed building. A closed interior loop makes a room. Undo removes the last draft segment; leaving the tool discards an unfinished path.

Extend the building

Use the exterior wall tool. Start on an outside wall, draw the addition outside the building, and reconnect to a different point on the same building.

The new outline becomes exterior; the enclosed old wall becomes interior. Garage doors and projecting windows on that converted wall are removed. Other openings stay when they still fit. Undo restores the old outline and removed openings together.

Click each corner and the reconnecting point. The preview shows the new room before you finish.

Drag the addition from the outside wall back to the same building. If you lift before reconnecting, drag the draft's end handle to continue.

An addition cannot cross itself, overlap walls, or enclose a separate building. Follow the canvas hint if the path cannot finish.

Add a courtyard

Use the exterior wall tool to draw a closed outline inside the building. Its center becomes an outdoor space. Use an interior wall loop when that space should remain a room.

Select the courtyard's outline to move or reshape it. The surrounding building stays in place.

Choose Walls → Exterior wall, click the courtyard's corners, and close the loop.

Choose Walls → Exterior and drag a closed loop inside the building.

Reshape walls

Select a room or outside outline. Drag a corner or wall handle to resize it. Select Edit shape for more control: move corners, move an edge, or drag a midpoint to add a bend. Select Done when finished.

Open Edit shape in the side controls. Back keeps the room selected; Done returns to the main tools.

An opening can block a wall change. Move or resize that opening first. Invalid moves leave the saved shape in place.

To move the whole structure, drag its move handle. Rotate turns it by 90°; Flip mirrors it. Attached items move with the structure.

Remove walls or structures

SelectionAction and result
One wallDelete removes that wall and its openings.
RoomDelete interior removes its interior boundary walls and their openings. Exterior walls, nested room boundaries, and free items stay.
Open outside pathDelete removes the unfinished shape.
Whole structureDelete removes the structure and its contained diagram items. Review the confirmation when shown. Finding records stay in the report.

Delete interior appears only when the selected room has interior walls. Use Undo to restore the change while the diagram stays open.

Select the room, then Delete interior. You can also press Delete or Backspace on the selected room.

Select the room, then Delete interior in its controls.
