Reusable comments
Save wording for future property inspections, then reuse it in findings.
A reusable comment holds a title, text, optional severity, and variables. Use a unique title; names that differ only by case or extra spaces count as the same name. Your company shares the library. Inserting a comment gives the finding its own copy; later library changes do not rewrite that finding.
On mobile, find saved wording by voice with “Add comment” and its title.
Find and insert a comment
On mobile, open Findings, select Add new beside a subsection, then Add comment. From a finding, use Insert comments. Select a comment, or tap Search to find saved wording. Use Filter comments to choose one or more severities; All comments clears the filter.
A linked subsection shows its saved comments, and search stays within that list. An unlinked subsection opens All comments with the keyboard closed. Its area's comments come first under their subsection headings, followed by Other comments. If the area has no template link, you see the full library in its saved order. Search and filters cover the full library in either unlinked view.
Complete any variable choices, then select Insert. The comment adds its wording and copies its saved photos. Undo restores the prior draft for ten seconds when offered. Save the finding to keep a new draft.
A first download needs a connection; saved library data works offline.
Create a comment
- Open Library → Comments.
- Select New comment.
- Enter Comment title and the comment text. Choose a severity if needed.
- Use Insert variable for reusable word choices, or Add photo for saved photos.
- Select Save changes.
Open Findings, select Add new beside a subsection, then Add comment. From an existing finding, use Insert comments.
- Select the plus button, then Start blank.
- Enter Comment name and the text. Choose a severity if needed.
- Select Save.
- If Add to this template is shown, keep it on and choose a Section to add the comment there. Turn it off to save to the library alone.
- Select Save only, or Save and insert to use it now.
If the area has no linked template, the template choices are hidden. Save and insert opens word choices when the comment uses variables; select Insert after choosing them.
Copy or edit a comment
Select a comment in Library → Comments, then Edit. Change its title, text, variables, severity, or photos, then select Save changes.
Press and hold a comment in search, then choose:
| Action | Result |
|---|---|
| Edit comment | Change the saved comment. Its photos and template placement stay in place. |
| Create a copy | Start another comment with the same text, variables, and severity. Rename it before saving. Photos and template placement are not copied. |
| Start blank | Start an empty comment. |
After editing, select Save, then Save only or Save and insert. The existing comment keeps its template placement.
Use the web to add or change photos stored with a reusable comment. The mobile comment editor changes text, variables, and severity.
Editing a comment updates its library uses, including linked template sections. Shared variable changes also affect other comments that use that variable.
Save a finding as a comment
On mobile, open an existing property finding, then Finding actions → Save as reusable comment.
Review the copied title, text, and severity. Add variables if needed, select Save, choose the template section if shown, then select Save again.
The new comment keeps the finding's words and line breaks. Photos and variable links are not copied. Noma returns to the unchanged finding.
Delete a comment
Open the comment in Library → Comments, select Edit → Delete comment, and confirm the named comment.
Press and hold the comment, then select Delete comment → Delete. Undo is available for six seconds.
Deleting removes the comment from the library and template sections. Existing findings, reports, and shared variables stay unchanged.
Keep changes
Mobile saves changes on the device, then syncs them when connected. Other teammates see them after sync. If saving fails, keep the editor open and retry.
Leaving a changed draft asks whether to discard it. Canceling an insertion does not undo a comment already saved to the library.
