Add doors and windows
Place, size, and align wall openings on the diagram.
Draw the walls first. Doors, windows, garage doors, and passages attach to walls.
Place an opening
Select Openings → Door, Window, Garage, or Passage, then click the wall. The placement preview shows where it fits.
Select the opening under Openings, then tap its wall. You can also drag the tool from the bottom dock onto the wall.
Garage doors and projecting windows need an exterior wall. Openings need space between neighboring openings and wall ends. If an opening does not fit, choose a wider wall or a smaller width.
Choose the type
Select the opening, then Type where available.

| Door | Hinged door, Bifold door, or Sliding door. A hinged opening 4 ft or wider shows two doors. |
| Window | Standard or Projecting. Projecting windows also have depth and side controls. |
| Garage | Garage door sizes; it remains a garage door. |
| Passage | An open doorway without a door leaf. |
Move, size, and align
Drag an opening along its wall or onto another compatible wall. Align moves it toward either end or the center of the wall.
Drag an end handle or use Width. For a projecting window, use Depth or its depth handle. Side flips the projection.
Select Width in the side controls, or drag an end handle. Projecting windows also offer Depth and Flip. Select Align to choose a wall position.
Hinged doors, standard windows, projecting windows, and passages resize in steps. Bifold, sliding, and garage doors use fixed sizes. The wall and nearby openings may limit the size.
Set the direction

| Flip door swing | Moves the swing to the other side of the wall. |
| Reverse sliding panels | Reverses the sliding-door layout. |
| Projecting window Side / Flip | Moves the projection to the opposite wall side. |
Only controls that apply to the selected type appear.
Use the selected opening's floating controls.
For a hinged door, select Flip in the side controls, then choose the swing or hinge action.
Copy or remove
On the web, select the opening, press Cmd/Ctrl+C, then Cmd/Ctrl+V. Click a compatible wall to place the copy. Press Esc to cancel placement.
Select Delete to remove an opening. The wall stays. Undo restores the opening.
